Teddy’s Tale: A Lesson Learned
I am a devoted mother of 2 wonderful kids, a 12-year old girl and an 8-year old boy. My love for dogs led me to a pet shop recommended by a friend, where I found our beloved Teddy, an adorable Toy Poodle.
The pet shop staff were very friendly, making the experience delightful. As Teddy grew, so did our affection for him. However, over time, I noticed Teddy getting larger than expected for a Toy Poodle.
I reached out to the pet shop sharing a photo, concerned that Teddy might not be a purebred Toy Poodle but to my dismay, the pet shop denied any wrongdoing and insisted that Teddy’s lineage was pure Toy Poodle. I was dissatisfied with the pet shop but the idea of returning Teddy was impossible. My family and I adored Teddy but yet I could not shake the feeling of being deceived.
Many months passed and it was time to renew Teddy’s license. That was when I discovered that the pet shop had registered Teddy as a Miniature Poodle, not a Toy Poodle! I was outraged. How can a licensed pet shop engage in such deception? Friends’ recommendations are not always foolproof.
Always insist in seeing licenses and buy from reputable establishments. It is too late for our family to do anything now except to share this story and hope this does not happen to anyone else.
